Hi, I'm Emma. I run a layout site here on xanga. I'm a freshman in college, majoring in the music industry. Upon graduation I hope to become a music supervisor or do something with concert management. I'm a shameless Disney fan, I still watch the classics and I've been known to watch Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place before. I love listening to Avril Lavigne, Jesse McCartney, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, Tyler Hilton, and many more. I love to read, Harry Potter and Twilight are among my favorites, but Harry Potter will always be better. I play the guitar and I recently started taking piano lessons again. I love shopping, but I don't care so much about brand names. I went down to Mississippi with Habitat for Humanity to help with Hurricane Katrina relief in February '09 and it was a life changing experience, I highly recommend it.

| I should really work on updating this more.
School ended on May 8th, so sad. The whole week before I was slowly packing up my dorm. I wasn't fully packed until after my parents got there. All of my friends helped me move out (which was very nice of them, I had a lot of stuff). It's barely been ten days and I already miss everything about being away at college. Even the food; as gross as it was sometimes there was always something to eat. There was always people around, always something to do. I miss Michael barging into my room with his guitar to play us a new verse he had just written. Watching One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl on Monday nights isn't the same without the girls crammed into the dorm huddled around our little tv. Now I understand why everyone always says your college years are the best years of your life.
Fortunately, nobody lives too far away. Michael and Sarah are definitely coming up June 6th for Summer Jam Alex is trying to get a train ticket so she can come too. Kerry is coming up for the summer, she's got a summer house near here, and Jessica is going to visit her for a week. I'm sad Brittany and Amanda probably aren't going to make it up. Then in August, Emily, Sarah and I are going down to visit Michael and we're seeing Jason Mraz! So stoked for that. This summer is going to be filled with music. I just got Green Day tickets on Friday; they were way more money then I wanted to spend, but it will be worth it.
And now I'm going to sleep, because I'm going back to visit my old high school tomorrow. Goodnight, xanga.

| So California was simply amazing. Seriously. I want to move there.
Okay, Monday morning I got up at 3:30am to catch my plane to Cleveland and then to LAX. It was a nice flight. It was about 2 hours from NY to Cleveland, and then about a 45 minute layover there and a 5 hour flight to LA but it really wasn't that bad. I slept a bit, read Twilight, didn't do the homework I brought with me, it's all good. I landed, found Katie and we were off!
She lives about four hours north of LA, and although it was only 11am in California, I had been up since 3:30 NY time so I was pretty tired so we didn't end up walking around Hollywood or anything, and just got on the freeway north. On the ride back we stopped in Summerland, just because of the tv show. It wasn't filmed there, but so what it's a town called Summerland. It was a pretty nice town, we didn't really stay long but some of the houses there were absolutely gorgeous. Right on the ocean, too.
One of the days we went shopping in San Luis Obispo. There's no outdoor malls, which I found strange but it was really nice. I got a really cute sundress, some bright colored tank tops from Old Navy and tried Jamba Juice for the first time. The guy who made it for me asked where I was from and when I said NY he was like "WHOA long way away!" and then apologized for the downpour that was outside, but I didn't even care because my mom had called earlier in the morning and told me it was snowing at home. Rain is definitely an upgrade from snow. And it only lasted about an hour. We ate at Applebees, and then headed up to Morro Bay to be tourists. It's beautiful up there, and more gorgeous houses right on the ocean.
Wednesday we drove to Santa Maria. Did a little shopping in the one indoor mall we found, but none of the stores were that interesting so we left and started driving back. We stopped at a few beaches (Pismo, Avila, Shell) and saw signs for Arroyo Grande. Now, if you've never heard of Arroyo Grande, it just happens to be the town Zac Efron grew up in. Well, of course we had to stop. It's a really nice town, nothing special really at all. We drove by the school (we were being so creepy) and I got pictures aha. It's a really nice school.
That night we watched the sun set over the Pacific Ocean from Montano de Oro. It was absolutely gorgeous. We watched from the top of a big rock, and the waves crashed around it. I got all wet because I had my back facing the ocean and the wave surprised me. The water was so cold!
Thursday we drove back to Los Angeles to walk around Hollywood. I got pictures of the handprints and signatures in front of the Chinese Theater, saw the El Capitan theater where Disney holds a lot of movie premieres, where Jimmy Kimmel Live films. Of course saw a bunch of the stars on the Walk of Fame. There's also this fountain thing where they happened to be filming shots for the television show Weeds while we were there. I don't watch the show, so I didn't recognize anyone on it (actually they might've just been doing establishing shots so I don't know if the actors were even there) but it was pretty cool.
Then we didn't want to have to drive all the way back to Katie's house that night and back to LA the next day, so my dad called his friend and we ended up staying with him at his house in Laguna Beach. Oh yeah. Talk about nice houses. We didn't really get to see a lot of the town because it was dark when we got there, but we walked along the beach. I got sand! It was very exciting. I also got pretty soaked because I didn't roll my pants up enough but whatever, it's fine.
I have some pictures I'll put up soon, they're on my home computer though so I have to have my mom email them to me. How were your spring breaks?
Oh PS the bolding & italics stopped because I got lazy and didn't feel like finishing them ahaha

| So lately I've had this great urge to make arts and crafts. I haven't done art projects since I was a little kid (it's sad, I know).
My floor at school had a social where we painted and decorated picture frames. Mine is pink with some random magazine clippings glued to it and like flowers and words painted on. It was a lot of fun to make, but I don't really like the finished project because everything kept getting smudged. I have to work on my decorating skills.
Last weekend it was insanely gorgeous outside, upwards of 65 degrees. Everyone was outside doing fun things, so my friends and I sat outside for hours and made friendship bracelets. I got a nice burn on the right side of my body, it was pretty sweet. The bracelets came out good though; they're the diagonal stripe ones. It was a nice walk down memory lane too. My cousin and I used to sit all summer and make tons of these and then sell them for a dollar on the beach in Maine. So if you were ever stopped on your stroll down the main road to the beach by these little kids selling bracelets outside a house with a huge garden on a cooler, that was us and we appreciate your business (:
Then I found a wicked cool art project in a magazine. You take old pants you don't fit into anymore, cut off the legs so its kind of like a mini skirt and then sew the bottom and decorate it so it's a fun purse. Haven't done this one yet because I don't have any jeans I don't wear, but it sounds like fun. And I need a new purse.
That's probably all the arts and crafts I'll be doing for awhile. Early Monday morning I'm hopping on a plane to Los Angeles where I'm meeting up with my best friend in the whole entire world and we're going to spend the day in Hollywood! I'm so stoked, seriously. Hopefully we'll go to San Francisco as well, but it's a long way from where we're staying so we might not. She lives right on the coast though, so we'll probably get in some beach time. I can't wait! And I also found out I got accepted for the Korea trip, so I'll be flying to Chicago around June 13th and staying in Chicago for a few days (maybe I'll get to meet Katie? o_O), then catching a non-stop flight out of O'Hare at 1am on the 16th to Seoul, South Korea. Then from there I will be traveling the country until the 29th when we fly back into Chicago. And one of my best friends is going, and I've never gotten to see him for more than 3-4 days at a time so this will be fantastic.

| Have you ever heard of Twitter? If you haven't, don't feel bad. I hadn't either until about a month ago. I kept seeing that Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were "tweeting" about everything, and you know how it goes; curiosity killed the cat so naturally I had to try it out. I signed up about two weeks ago. You wouldn't think two weeks would be long enough to get addicted to something, I know I did. I was definitely wrong.
I signed up. My username is xheystephen if you're interested. At first I didn't really understand it. Like people "tweet" about anything. So I decided to "follow" my favorite celebrities. I must say, David Henrie, Tom Felton and John Mayer are my favorites because they're ALWAYS twittering. John Mayer had me laughing out loud the other day because he said "BREAKING CELEBRITY NEWS: I had my legs crossed for too long and now my penis is asleep" or something of that nature.
It's almost better than xanga too because you don't have to write a lot. Like right now I feel like I have to talk about Twitter long enough so I have a decent sized entry, but Twitter limits you to 140 characters so everything is quick and to the point. Just enough for a quick update. And I'm officially addicted. So if you have twitter, hit me up, I'd love to chat (:

| hello all, I think I'm going to stay with this username. I like it a lot better than screamfordreams. (:
So how was everybody's weekend? Mine was fantastic. I went home; my old high school was putting on Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella so I wanted to see it. I went Friday night with my brother, it was good. It wasn't like Broadway quality obviously, and a lot of the extremely talented actors from past years had graduated but the new kids did really well. It's not a very upbeat play though, most of the songs are slower.
Anyway, Saturday I found my prom dress. It's asymmetrical, pink and poofy but I like it. The entire top is beaded, and the bottom is that mesh stuff, I don't know what it's called. So my friend Nate came with me to get that altered and to get shoes. I got these shoes that are going to absolutely kill my feet, but they're silver and pretty and it'll be worth it. I also went to Wal-mart to get my pictures from Mississippi developed. I picked them up an hour later; Nate looked through them, but didn't really say much. Later, after I dropped him off and went to show my parents, I noticed that of the 200 pictures I had sent to get printed, about 150 of them weren't mine! Wal-mart had mixed up the photos, I was so mad. I didn't have time to go back that night, but my dad was really nice and went back and got them for me.
Saturday night I went to see the play again with Evan. It was better the first night, but afterward we hung out for awhile. We ended up walking on the beach across the street from my high school for a few hours. Sounds like fun right? It was, would've been better if I was wearing more than a sweatshirt and these sandal/sneaker things I have because I was freezing! He was sweet and offered me his jacket but I didn't take it because then he would've just been in a t-shirt and I would've felt bad. It was fun though, there was a huge pile of snow that people would snow mobile up and down so it was kind of slippery so we climbed that and slid and stuff. Looked at the stars, talked, froze together; it was a good night. Next time I go home we're doing movie night! I'm excited, I get to pick the movies, but I don't know what yet. Any ideas?
I overnighted my application for Korea yesterday. It cost me $25! It doesn't have to be there until Friday, so I was just going to send it via express mail, but since it was being sent to a PO Box I had to over night it. How lame is that? I'm so excited though. Hopefully my friend Eric and I get accepted. We'll be there from June 17-30 which means I won't be able to light the blow torch for the candle bearing ceremony at graduation this year, but I'd rather go to Korea. I'm doing so much traveling this year, I love it. I'm stoked for California in April. I'm flying into LAX so Katie said she's going to show me Hollywood! It's going to be so much funnnnnn <3
The only other thing is that Taylor Swift's concert at Madison Square Garden sold out in less than a minute. It's great for her, but I didn't get tickets. Not that I could've gone anyway because I'll be back at school by then and have no way to get to the city, but it would've been awesome to go.
So, do you guys have any fun trips planned for this year? Where are you going?
